Being Human

Welcome to Episode 151 of the Being Human Podcast: From Gender Dysphoria to Gender Integration: A Proposal

We’re in the midst of what could be considered a gender revolution. What’s the answer to the rapidly growing gender dysphoria prevalent in our culture? In this week’s episode, Dr. Greg proposes how a new and deepening understanding of Church teaching can provide the antidote to gender confusion.

Discussed in the episode:

  • The importance of understanding gender as being deeply tied to our biology;

  • How the gender confusion prevalent in our culture can prompt a new and deepening understanding of God’s design for our sexuality;

  • What is the intrinsic connection between our body, our spirit, and our personhood?

  • Our need to have new formulations of answers that pull from the traditions of the Church in response to the questions our culture is asking about gender;

  • Following Christ’s example of upholding objective truth while also entering into the pain and suffering of people when addressing the issue of gender confusion;

  • How the relationship between and with mom and dad contributes to a child’s psychosexual development;

  • The impact of distortions in our relationship with mom and/or dad and how that can contribute to gender confusion;

  • How our current culture contributes to “rapid onset” gender dysphoria and confusion;

  • Self-hatred as one of the root causes of gender dysphoria;

  • Proposing “gender integration” as the solution to the “gender revolution” confusion.
